A local firm that turns up
Most people call us because something needs to go and they cannot shift it themselves. An old three piece suite. A garage that has not been opened properly in years. A shop unit that has to be empty by Friday.
We are a family-run business, so the person who answers the phone is the person who quotes the job and the person who turns up to do it. That is the whole point of using someone local rather than a national booking website.
We are fully licensed and insured, we give you a clear price before we start, and we leave the space tidy when we go.
The environment
Where your waste actually goes
Taking rubbish away is the easy part. Doing something sensible with it afterwards is what a licensed carrier is for.
We sort as we load
Metal, wood, cardboard and green waste get separated on the truck rather than tipped in together.
Licensed sites only
Everything goes to a permitted transfer station or recycling facility. Nothing is fly tipped and nothing is left in a lay-by.
Recycled where possible
Anything that can be recovered or reused is separated out before the rest is dealt with.
Paperwork provided
Businesses get a waste transfer note, which is what you need to show you met your duty of care.
Your duty of care
Why the licence matters
If you are a household and you pay someone to take your waste away, you are legally responsible for checking they are a registered waste carrier. If they fly tip it, the waste is traced back to you, and it is you who gets the fixed penalty notice.
If you are a business, the obligation is stronger. Under your duty of care you have to make sure your waste is transferred to an authorised person and you have to keep the paperwork.
We are registered with the Environment Agency as a waste carrier and we are happy to show you our registration and our insurance before you book. If a firm will not show you theirs, that tells you something.
